Case study HP – Progressive VDP Printing

The background

This VDP campaign for HP in the run up to IPEX represents the pinnacle of the latest VDP data and image generation techniques while demonstrating the very latest features on the new HP 7500 press which recently joined the existing press room bringing the total to 4 Indigo presses.

Making good use of the new thick substrate kit we are able to print on stocks up to 450 mic, the new opaque white feature allows VDP printing in white for the first time and also provides a base on to which 4 colour images can be placed on dark or transparent stocks.

The documents which feature VDP content through out were generated using both XMPie and Direct Smile simultaneously, the geo mapping location feature on the back cover was created by bespoke scripting by our system analysts automatically looking up postcode location for recipients against the show location and calculating distance.

With localised marketing becoming more prominent this techniques shows the way in how print can keep pace.

As well as all this we used 5 different substrates including clear and Mirri stocks all of which had to gather with care maintaining data integrity for PUR binding and when considering the audience print quality was a must.

In short a VDP Tour De Force

Printing at its best, contextual, tactile, vibrant and localised, enjoy!
